WATEC
/ DLA ROWPU Initiative
In January, 2002, WATEC
INC. and the Defense Logistics Agency signed a 10-year contract that will
improve parts and services support for water purification equipment.
The contract is a commercial
long-term, indefinite quantity supply contract for water purification equipment
parts managed by the Defense Logistics Agency. It also provides a means for
obtaining training, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of water purification
equipment, specifically, the 600 GPH and 3,000 GPH Reverse Osmosis Water Purification
Units. The TWDS and WSDS systems are also covered by this contract. The contract
also provides a vehicle for conducting the annual John C. Marigliano Award
of Excellence (formerly the FORSCOM ROWPU RODEO), the premiere DOD water purification
competition.
The contract supports
more than 3,100 DLA managed National Stock Numbers and more than 1,900 non-NSN
items, as well as, ancillary services. The contract was developed with the
customer in mind. All requisitions are to be submitted in accordance with
the approved military Supply regulations. The DLA will electronically transmit
